About Big Chill

Do you remember kicking back and listening to that amazing new album by your favorite rock band?

Way back before iTUNES, iPODS, when you could spend an hour looking at an album cover, Remember when your biggest concerns were your music, your hair, and whether or not your jeans looked good?

Well, Big Chill takes you back to those times. From the soaring harmonies of
the Animals' "It's My Life" to the driving rock of the Yardbirds, "The Nazz are blue" to the gentle groove of Clapton's "Wonderful tonight," Big Chill will help you remember a cooler time. A time when your hair was longer, life was simpler, and rock and roll mattered just a little bit more. Hey, growing up is OK, but when you need that fix, hang out with Big Chill.

This talented 4-piece band delivers Rhythm and blues the way you remember it – full of energy, excitement and passion.

With a versatile line-up that features two lead vocalists, 3-part vocal harmony, dual guitars, bass and drums, Big Chill easily recreate the sounds of the 60’s, 70’s, right through to today’s contemporary artists.

Peter Feldman - Lead Vocals - Bass Guitar

Peter has vast experience in jazz and R&B; and also performed on a regular basis with some of Ottawa's finest musicians. Peter has spent a lifetime immersing himself in the Blues. He’s a master of the form and on stage is a blast of majestic Blues power.

Doug McArthur - Lead Vocals - Guitar

Doug has been playing music for over 20 years in Ottawa's music scene in various  blues and classic rock bands. Doug’s love of classic R&B and Soul songs, smooth & powerful vocal stylings, and rock based riffs add a great dimension to the band.

Lee Atkinson - Vocals - Guitar

Lee has over 30 years of experience playing in blues, and R&B bands. However, the Blues has always been his first love. Lee's high energy, soul-moving solos and funky rhythm playing, spark audience interest and add melodic foundation to Big Chill's music.
As well as adding incredible lead guitar, he also adds a multitude of textures by way of a fabulous blues knowledge and his creativity.

Jim Hurcomb - Drums

Jim Hurcomb is what all bands want in a drummer. Besides the obvious (talent), Jim is a bottomless well of energy who’s dedicated to his craft and to the band.
Playing since his youth, Jim’s understanding of tempo, meter, dynamics, as well as the appropriate volume are a major reason why the band can excite a crowd, but without seemingly feeling the need to deafen them in order to do so.
